Ogun State To Complete The Ongoing Housing Project

One of the roles of government is to provide good housing for its citizen. Although in the Nigeria most state governments don’t really consider housing as their top agenda. Recently the Ogun state government released funds for the completion of the uncompleted housing project in Media Village, Ajebo, Abeokuta, and a low cost housing estate. This announcement was made by the commissioner for housing Ogun State, Mr. Daniel Adejobi.
The government has invite some architects from Malaysia and been taken around the various projects with the aim of rebuilding the estates. They were also conducted round ibara and Totoro in Abeokuta for the proposed city centre as well as Oke-Mosan and Ooba for the new proposed government city.
The commission also stated that the Mechanic Village at Obada Oko was close to completion and warned that state government would sanction any contractor that failed to perform.

Over 87 Housing Units are Abandoned in Lagos State

The Lagos State Government has decried the abandonment of 87 housing units in some of its estates, saying they constitute environmental and security challenges. Commissioner for housing in Lagos State Mr. Bosun Jeje, in a statement expressed the displeasure of the government at the action. He said some of the houses had been abandoned since they were allotted to the owners.

Cooperative Society Partners With FMBN To Provide Housing Mortgage Loans

Executive Housing Co-operative society limited (EHC) and the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has announced a collaboration that would ensure homeownership artisans. The Housing scheme which is known as Artisan Scheme will enable groups of artisan, as members of EHC, access mortgage loans payable on long term basis from FMBN at 6% interest.
